joshua m. haroldson i find it helpful to remember it this way...if you get out your compass and adjust for true north then rotate 30 degrees...no west...then walk exactly 83 paces directly away from the building. then multiply that number by the (3/10)*tan(60). thats roughly the number of balconies up. easy.
